Badolato - Arrested
Crime: Fraudulently Obtain Dangerous Drugs
October 16, 2008
GALLATIN COUNTY MT NEWS -- Lindsey Courtney Badolato has been arrested, originally wanted by the Gallatin County Sheriff for 14 counts of Fraudulently Obtain Dangerous Drugs. Badolato allegedly forged a doctor's order to get prescription painkillers at Wal-Mart in Bozeman, Montana. Badolato tried to have a Wal-Mart pharmacist fill a fake prescription for 60 doses of a narcotic painkiller Dilaudid. The pharmacist suspected the order was phony and called the doctor's office in Belgrade to confirm the order. The doctor's office said the prescription was no longer valid and then called the Bozeman police. When police arrived, Badolato was arrested, and the pharmacist provided the police with a record of 14 Dilaudid prescriptions totaling 720 doses Badolato had previously obtained from the Wal-Mart.
Badolato admitted she had visited the doctor's office once to obtain a valid prescription for Dilaudid. Then Badolato had a friend forge fake prescriptions for her in exchange for a cut of the drugs. The drug, Dilaudid is called "drug store heroin" in the hood. It is a derivative of morphine, and commonly abused by junkies as a heroin substitute.
During Badolato's hearing, Justice Court Judge Scott Wyckman set bail at $75,000 saying, "You haven't controlled this part of your life. I'm not comfortable releasing you." Badolato responded, "No one's ever gonna be able to come up with that," and "I'm gonna die in here."
Well, apparently the judge was right. For when Badolato finally was released she took flight. So, now after approximately two years, Badolato has been captured again. Hopefully, this time she will get some help for her addiction and stay locked down.
The Gallatin County Sheriff's 51deputies patrol 2517 square miles of mostly wilderness by car, truck, boat, bike, and in the winter, snowmobile. As with all law enforcement, Gallatin County depends on its community for help in providing beneficial information to apprehend criminals.
Now isn't that good News?
