Rhonda Sue Boggs Escapee From Huntington Work/Study Release Center Captured

February 7, 2008

CABELL COUNTY WV NEWS -- Rhonda Sue Boggs has been captured in Columbus, Ohio. Rhonda Sue had a habit of spending her time in the kitchen. Originally, Rhonda Sue Boggs was convicted for manufacturing Methamphetamine in Webster County, West Virginia. However, while serving the last third of her sentence, she decided to escape Huntington Work/Study Release Center, a minimum-security facility in the heart of downtown Huntington.

Rhonda Sue Boggs - Fugitive

The Huntington Work/Study Release Center is known as a community-based correctional facility housed in a three-story brick building containing five dormitories of which hold 54 male and 12 female offenders. Offenders are carefully screened through a risk assessment classification method for participation in the work release program, and are all considered nonviolent offenders.

Huntington Work/Study Release Center provides its offenders, called "residents," the opportunity through educational, vocational, rehabilitation, mental, spiritual and employment programs to discover, develop and enhance personal behaviors, as well as learn habits and skills necessary for a successful transition from prison to the community. Furthermore, the "residents" are taught to maintain a productive life, while making a valuable contribution to society.

Apparently, this opportunity presented to Rhonda Sue Boggs was not good enough, or the carefully screened process through a risk assessment classification wasn't careful enough.

On March 19, 2006, a federal warrant was filed for Bogg's arrest charging her with Escape from WV Department of Corrections Work Release. Now, as usual, the U.S. Marshals are hunting this offender, and believe she could be hiding in one of the following counties:

  • Fayette County, West Virginia
  • Kanawha County, West Virginia
  • Raleigh County, West Virginia

Rhonda Sue Boggs is described as:

  • Age: 39
  • Height: 5'5"
  • Weight: 145 pounds
  • Eyes: Hazel (Note: Hazel Eyes change color from light brown to green and sometimes gray depending on light)
  • Hair: Blond
  • Complexion: Light
  • Sex: Female
  • Race: White

Rhonda Sue Boggs uses the alias:

  • Rhonda Sue Dancy

In addition, Boggs has a tat of quarter moon on her right ankle, and likes to look at the world through glass.

Once again, Rhonda Sue Boggs has been captured in Columbus, Ohio.
