Vincent Marlous Manning provided weapon to kill Aiken County man.September 1, 2010 SC FUGITIVE NEWS -- Vincent Marlous Manning has been arrested in North Augusta, South Carolina, for his involvement in a robbery and murder. Manning has arrest warrants for having committed Murder, Armed Robbery, and Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana. Additionally, this suspected killer acted with two other accomplices, David Lee Johnson and Robert Lee Smith Jr. Both have been arrested for their part in the alleged crime. On May 19, 2010 after receiving a tip from the general public, The Aiken County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Team along with ATF, Richmond County Sheriff's Office, Public Safety, and Aiken Public Safety captured Vincent Marlous Manning at a North Augusta address. Sheriff Michael Hunt commended the successful apprehension stating, "I am very proud of our Special Operations Team, because of their hard work, persistence, and the ability to effectively work with outside agencies, they were able to apprehend this murder suspect." Vincent Marlous Manning - in custody On November 23, 2009, Aiken County Sheriff's Office Investigators responded to a shooting incident on the corner of Weston Street and Crestlyn Drive in North Augusta, South Carolina, where they found local resident 35-year-old Paul Joseph Lirley dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. Working on the presumption that the motive for the shooting was armed robbery, Aiken County Sheriff's Office Investigators solved the homicide case. During the ongoing investigation, Police discovered that David Lee Johnson was an accessory after the fact to the murder. Alledgedly, Robert Lee Smith Jr. was the triggerman, and Manning provided the gun in order to rob Lirley. At approximately, 7:00 p.m. on the evening of the killing, it is believed that when Manning met Smith on Weston Street, there he provided Smith a .380 caliber handgun for the purpose of the robbery. Upon the arrival of the victim, Paul Joseph Lirley, who met the men to buy Marijuana, Smith lead Lirley from Weston Street to Crestlyn Drive where he then shot and killed Lirley completing the robbery and murder. In conclusion, Vincent Marlous Manning is no longer considered a fugitive at large. Manning should also be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. |
