Leonard Mas Fugitive ThugDecember 27, 2007 PHILADELPHIA PA NEWS -- Leonard Mas was most wanted in connection with the homicide of Anthony Montalvo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In addition, Mas had an accomplice, Iris Matos, both were jointly sought by the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and the Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force (VCFTF).
According to Philadelphia police, on the night of December 8, 2007, 18-year-old Anthony Montalvo was fatally shot, at Fourth and Cumberland Streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Police responded to a report of shooting at 11:27 p.m. to find Montalvo suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Montalvo was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m. The shooting is believed to have occurred following an argument between Leonard Mas, Iris Matos and Antony Montavlo. Leonard Mas is your typical thug, amazingly, Mas has been convicted of only two charges. Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute or manufacture and resisting arrest. The HIDTA program is a partnership of local state and federal law enforcement agencies including the Philadelphia Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, INS, SS, Camden NJ Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police. The Violent Crimes/Fugitive Task Force (VCFTF) is a sponsored initiative by the United States Marshals Service whose mission is to investigate, locate and apprehend fugitives. The Task Force primarily focuses on drug-related violent crimes and illegal criminal aliens involved in trafficking narcotics in sections of Philadelphia where there are a number of homicides within the HIDTA.
