First Degree Murder Suspect Captured

CHICAGO IL NEWS -- A Honduras National, Orlin Bonilla Ortiz , who was wanted by the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force has been captured. Additionally Ortiz speaks limited English and has been residing in the United States illegally since 2008.

Fugitive Honduran Arrested - Orlin Bonilla Ortiz

The 19-year-old Honduran is accused of the April 9, 2009, murder of Maribel Alvarez, his 28-year-old girlfriend, who was a U.S. citizen and native of Chicago, Illinois. According to the complaint, Ortiz is alleged to have stabbed Alvarez to death in her apartment in Chicago, following a domestic dispute. The Honduran fled the scene before police arrived.

Readers are reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case in the United States are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
