July 11, 2010

MIAMI FL NEWS -- Taylenis Alvarado is most wanted by Florida Department of Corrections Absconder Unit for probation violation. She was originally convicted for robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, a Saturday Night Special. Sentenced to three years supervised probation in Miami, Dade County, Florida, Alvarado, disappeared after 15 months.

In early 2006 the former Secretary of the Department of Corrections, James McDonough, established a goal to reduce the number of Florida's fugitive absconders by 20% within one year. Known as the departments "Absconder Initiative," a five member Absconder Unit was tasked with the development and implementation of new strategies to more efficiently investigate, track and resolve absconder cases. Utilizing information technologies to reach the general public as well as local law enforcement agencies statewide, the Absconder Unit reduced the total number of absconders by 11,320 or 25.67%, therefore, exceeding the initiative original goal, and proving once again the benefits of community policing.

Unfortunately, the total effectiveness of the initiative has been limited by the legal challenges related to extradition of fugitives located in other states. But, the success of the program has opened the eyes of other states' corrections departments, which now are modeling their programs after Florida's Absconder Initiative.

This limitation of legal challenges related to extradition of fugitives is where Most Wanted Hoes comes into play. In order for law-abiding citizens to demand the extradition of these fugitives to the state where their crimes originated, they must have knowledge of these fugitives. These fugitives are attempting to slip through the cracks of our justice system. They are walking our streets and are free to continue to commit crimes. Most Wanted Hoes provides profiles of notorious female fugitives on a national level to provide citizens with the knowledge, in an entertaining format, to identify these fugitives. Only by the demand of local citizens can these convicted criminals be returned to the States where their crimes originated in order to serve their respective sentences. Local governments have a duty to provide their public safety, and this should include the extradition of known criminal fugitives.
