Most Wanted News: Minneapolis, Minnesota Armed Bank Robbery in Minnesota
Wanted by the FBI for Bank RobberyDecember 9, 2007 MINNEAPOLIS MN NEWS -- On August 24, 2007, the SMW Federal Credit Union, located at 6574 University Avenue NE, Fridley, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone gunman. At approximately 12:10 p.m., a lone individual entered the SMW Federal Credit Union and asked about opening a new account. Once satisfied with the answers to his inquires, the man left the bank. Outside the bank, the individual then waited on a bench until the bank's customers left. Finally, when the bank was empty, the individual pulled a black handgun and reentered the bank. Entering the lobby, the now armed gunman took a bank teller hostage. Running up from behind, he grabbed the teller by the back of the neck and pushed her behind the teller line and demanded cash. As the bank robber was pushing the teller around, he pointed the handgun at her, screaming that he had a gun and to give him the money. Eventually, pushing the teller to her teller window, he ran around to the customer side of her window and placed a black or blue lunch bag/ lunch cooler on the counter. The bank teller then put an undisclosed amount of money in the bag and the bank robber ran outside the credit union and was last seen fleeing east toward University Avenue.

The bank robber wore yellow short sleeve T-shirt, baggy blue jeans, white sneakers, and a black baseball hat with a black Boston Red Sox "B" logo on it. The gun was a black semi-automatic handgun. Anyone with information regarding this bank robbery should contact the Minneapolis FBI at (612) 376-3200, the Fridley Police Department, or Crime Stoppers.
