The 53-year-old woman professional was accused of threatened to kill two federal labor relations board attorneys.

November 11, 2008

LAS VEGAS NV NEWS -- Lori Irish, of Las Vegas, was convicted on Thursday, November 6, 2008, of five counts of Threats Against a Federal Employee, two counts of Threats Made in Interstate Commerce, and one count of Witness Tampering. The 53-year-old woman professional was accused of threatening to kill two federal labor relations board attorneys who were in charge of litigating cases against her company, Advanced Architectural Metals Incorporated, Las Vegas, Nevada, a full-service ornamental metal shop, which provides fabrication and installation services for the casino and gaming industry.

According to court records and evidence presented at the woman's trial, in November and December 2007, as well as April 2008, Irish made telephone calls to two National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) attorneys threatening to harm them and kill them. An independent federal agency, the National Labor Relations Board administers the laws governing relations between unions and employers in the private sector. Employees working for Irish's company, filed complaints with the Board claiming, among other things, that Irish failed to bargain with unions pursuant to their collective bargaining agreements and that the employees were threatened with discharge if they communicated with the unions. Irish also made several telephone calls to other NLRB staff threatening to kill one of the NLRB attorneys, the professional woman was further accused of telling one of her employees in December 2007 that she would fire him and kill him if he did not testify falsely at her company's National Labor Relations Board proceeding.

Finally, Irish has been held over in custody and scheduled for sentencing on February 20, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count of threats against a federal employee, up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count of threats made in interstate commerce, and up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on the witness tampering count. It is unknown whether Advanced Architectural Metals Incorporated, in Las Vegas, Nevada, will close due to this professional woman, Lori Irish conviction, effectively displacing its current employees. Hopefully not, and the company can iron out its management /employees' differences.
