Most Wanted News: United Kingdom, European Union Polish Woman Wanted by Scotland YardWanted by the Scotland Yard for questioning in murder
July 26, 2008 CAMDEN UK NEWS -- A Polish woman, Magdalena Zajdel, is most wanted by the United Kingdom's Metropolitan Police, also known as Scotland Yard and New Scotland Yard. They would like to question Zajdel's involvement in the drowning of 30-year-old Patrick Linkavicius. A known street drinker, Zajdel, often chilled in the Camden area of North London, and allegedly pushed Linkavicius pushed into the canal at Hawley Lock on September 8, 2006. Linkavicius was eventually pulled from the water unconscious, but died the following day. Magdalena Zajdel then disappeared, and Police now believe she may have fled the United Kingdom to Poland or Germany, where she has relatives. Now Detective Superintendent, Ian Foster, has commented on the search for Magdalena Zajdel, saying, "It's vital we speak to Magda. We have spoken to some other street people who said there was an argument between these two beforehand. We think Patrick was a reasonable swimmer and the water is not more than five feet deep. There may be some logical explanation but we want people who saw anything or people who recognize this young lady to come forward." Coroner's officer, Alan Pearce, also commented on Linkavicius death, "The deceased was with others drinking on the canal bank when an altercation of some sort took place which resulted in the deceased believed to have been pushed into the canal. As a result of this and other actions at the scene the deceased went under the water and failed to surface. One of the group jumped in to find him, assisted by a passer-by. He was finally found and taken to the Royal Free hospital where he remained unconscious, dying the following morning." But yo, there's more to this story than just a party gone bad. Both Zajdel and Linkavicius are transients. Patrick Linkavicius was a homeless Lithuanian selling the Big Issue, a current affairs magazine committed to giving homeless people a voice by addressing difficult issues that they often face. Whereas, Magdalena Zajdel appears to be just traveling, hanging out, and living life with no direction, In other words, enjoying her youth while she has it. Unfortunately, adding drinking from the "Crunk Cup" to her travel itinerary has resulted in the development of an unexpected coincidence, Magdalena Zajdel involvement in the death of Patrick Linkavicius.
