PORTLAND OR NEWS -- Melissa Sunshine Vitellaro is wanted in Washington County, Oregon for ID theft, which is a Class C Felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years imprisonment with a fine of up to $125,000.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, 8.5 million Americans experienced some form of identity theft in 2005. Oregon is currently rank 13th in the nation for Identify theft occurrences. A person has committed the crime of identity theft, when the person, with the intent to deceive or to defraud, obtains, possesses, transfers, creates, utters or converts to the person's own use the personal identification of another person — real or imaginary.
