October 22, 2007 HARTFORD CT NEWS -- On August 23, 1988, at the conclusion of a jury trial, Adam Mark Zachs was convicted of murder and sentenced to 60 years in prison. Pending appeal, Zachs was released on a bond. In June of 1989, Zachs failed to appear at a scheduled court hearing and a warrant for failure to appear was issued by a judge in the Superior Court of Connecticut on June 27, 1989. A federal arrest warrant charging Zachs with unlawful flight to avoid confinement was issued on July 24, 1989, in the United States District Court, Hartford, Connecticut. Therefore, a reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the FBI for information leading directly to the capture of Adam Mark Zachs. Adam Mark Zachs is most wanted for the murder of Peter Carrone in West Hartford, Connecticut. On March 22, 1987, Zachs engaged in an argument with Carrone at a bar. Upset over the outcome of the exchange, Zachs went to his home and then returned to the bar with a 9mm automatic pistol. Zachs again confronted Carrone inside the bar. However, this time asked him to step outside. Once outside the bar, the two men continued to argue until Carrone, attempting to end the argument, turned and began walking back inside the bar. At this point, Adam Mark Zachs pulled out the pistol and shot Carrone in the back. Peter Carrone died of inflicted gunshot wounds. Zachs fled the scene of the shooting, but was later arrested at his apartment.

He prefers to wear casual clothes, especially jeans. Moreover, Zachs is known to have a violent temper and may carry handguns due to a possible inferiority complex. Therefore, he is considered armed and dangerous. He speaks Spanish and may have fled to South America, maybe Mexico or possibly other Spanish speaking countries. Once again, there is a $50,000 reward for Zachs arrest. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Adam Mark Zachs who is most wanted for murder should immediately contact the nearest office of the FBI or the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
