Two Interpol notices have been released to the general public, a red notice for arrest and extradition and a blue notice to collect additional information about Gakhal's identity and activities in relation to a crime.
Additionally, on July 30, 2005, an individual was deported to India from Paris, France, following his illegal entry into France with a forged identity document. The individual alleged that he had purchased the forged identity document from Harbans Singh Gakhal for 400,000 Indian Rupees ($8,073.47). Furthermore, according to India's Central Bureau of Investigation, Gakhal is well-known for trafficking human beings to Europe. Harbans Singh Gakhal speaks English, Hindi, and Punjabi, he is described as:
