TCF Bandit arrest confirmed, and no longer considered at largeNovember 6, 2010 U.S. NEWS -- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was offering up to $20,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the "TCF Bandit" pictured below. The TCF Bandit is alleged to have committed armed robbery at least eleven Chicago area banks, dating back to February of 2007.
The most recent robbery occurred on Monday, December 7, 2009, when the TCF Bank branch, located at 153 East Schiller in Elmhurst, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. As he has done in previous incidents, the TCF Bandit entered the bank lobby, approached an employee, and orally announced a robbery. He claimed to be armed with a handgun and threatened the employee with harm if his demands were not met. After receiving bank money, the robber fled on foot, disappearing into the parking lot.
The TCF Bandit wore a cap and sunglasses in his bank robberies to conceal his identity.
It should be noted that the TCF Bandit not only robbed TCF Banks, but Charter One Banks as well. The TCF Bandit can also be considered a repeat offender of sorts, some TCF Bank branches he has robbed as many as three times! As of December 29, 2009, the TCF Bandit has allegedly robbed the following banks.
The TCF bandit is no longer a fugitive at large. |
